Mark 16:15-18
15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
17 "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;
18 "they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

In 1997, Pastor Terry Wakefield and his wife, Jody, responded to the call of God and came to Austin, TX. The grand opening of the Potter’s House Christian Church took place about 6 months after they arrived, in a business center on Rutland Drive in North Austin. In the year 2000, the church expanded its facility to accommodate its growing congregation. Two years later, with the needs and demands of the church increasing, Pastor Wakefield and his wife took a step of faith and left the security of their secular jobs in order to devote more time and focus to the ministry. One year later, in October 2003, the church outgrew the facility once again and the church relocated to a larger facility on Yager Lane.

In January 2009 with growth, not just numerically but spiritually as well taking place, made it possible to take the next step of faith  – planting and supporting a new baby church. In June 2009, with the congregation still growing, the church was able to purchase and move into its new and even larger location in the Anderson Mill / 183 area. The mark of the Potter’s House ministry has always been, and still is, radically changed lives, as we are committed to making disciples for Jesus Christ.
